Leonberg, May 20, 2026 – Oussama Larhnimi, a penetration tester at Schönbrunn TASC GmbH in Leonberg, was awarded second place at the NISCON Awards during the NIS-2 Congress in Frankfurt, making him one of Germany’s top penetration testers. The award was based on a technical competition to identify and analyze security vulnerabilities in web applications.
Participants were given five tasks involving realistic attack scenarios. Key factors in the evaluation included the quality of the documentation, the clarity of the solution paths, and the recommendations for addressing vulnerabilities. The submitted documentation was evaluated by an independent jury of IT security experts. “The competition task was not only exciting but also very educational,” says Oussama Larhnimi. “That makes me all the more pleased with the result.”
Oussama is receiving this award at a time when cybersecurity requirements are on the rise. With increasing regulatory requirements such as NIS-2, technical expertise in the field of offensive security is becoming increasingly important. Penetration testing not only uncovers security vulnerabilities in IT systems, but also raises awareness of real-world risks and enables sustainable security improvements. As a result, penetration testing is increasingly becoming a central component of modern cybersecurity strategies. Against the backdrop of the AI boom, this capability is particularly critical, as AI-powered attacks are becoming increasingly dynamic, automated, and difficult to detect, requiring security strategies to be continuously adapted accordingly.
Oussama Larhnimi began an internship at Schönbrunn TASC in 2022 as part of his bachelor’s degree in computer science at Coburg University of Applied Sciences and now works as a penetration tester for the Leonberg-based company. Schönbrunn TASC views the award as recognition of its commitment to sharing expertise and fostering young talent. “Oussama’s development into one of Germany’s top penetration testers underscores his professional strength. We are proud to have supported him on this journey,” said Nouha Schönbrunn, founder and CEO of Schönbrunn TASC.
